Sarah met Don at UCSD.  He is from Virginia and his dissertation title is "The Death of Civilization: Ethics and Politics in the Works of Hermann Broch, 1886-1951."  He spent two years in Vienna as a Fulbright Scholar and doing research.  He is teaching at UCSD while completing his PhD.
